I found the location at www.BogotaColombiaLodging.com. The proprietor's name is Bob Summers, and I honestly have to say I can't remember having had such great customer service. Bob's got two bedrooms, one bedrooms, studios, all the way down to a $20 a night room. Tell him your budget and he can probably makes something work for you. Great security in what is already a great central location, across the street from Salitre Plaza. In case you don't know, Salitre Plaza has everything from restaurants to banks, to exchange dealers... all of the amenities you might expect in North America.
Parque Alameda is near the U.S. Embassy, and again central to everything. Can't give it a strong enough recommendation. If you want to have a good time and not worry about your accommodations, look into Bogota Lodging. I rarely give unsolicited recommendations, but this time I just had to. It was great.
